BASEBALL

Thank you for your interest in St. Paul’s baseball program. This ASP provides a unique opportunity for athletes to practice baseball and to represent St. Paul American School in interscholastic competition.  Baseball practices are designed to be fun in a competitive environment. We want to ensure that your son or daughter has a positive experience and develops their baseball skills. Athletes are coached in fielding and batting. Understanding and communicating baseball strategy is emphasized.

Baseball ASP is divided into two age groups. Fourth and Fifth Grade Students practice during the first sports trimester. This year the Baseball ASP for elementary students culminated in a T-Ball tournament held at United Nations International School (UNIS).

During the second sports trimester Middle and Secondary School Athletes practice and play Baseball. Baseball is a new sport in Vietnam and St. Paul is leading the way with one of the only Baseball Fields in Northern Vietnam.

In 2016, St. Paul’s first two games were cancelled due to inclement weather. The season will continue after the Tet holiday. St. Paul has scheduled games with the Hanoi Capitals and Korean International School. As baseball becomes more popular other schools and baseball programs will be included in the schedule. St. Paul is intent on developing student athletes into competent baseball players.

Apart from our daily ASP practice and games with other schools, this year we also had the chance to learn from professional players in the Klouters Baseball Clinic.
